SWAZILAND ORPHANAGE MISSION

Team Swaziland
Over this past year under the direction of Ron Puiras, Chairman of the Jubilance Board, Jubilance has been involved in building an orphanage in Swaziland. Three teams have already worked with the children at the orphanage and two teams have gone to do construction of a new building.

The Puiras (Ron and daughter Sarah) have a passion to reach the rural area of Swaziland with God’s love and hope through the El Shaddai Ministry in Swaziland. (Southern Africa). Team Swaziland is operating under by Jubilance Ministries Inc.

Facts about The Kingdom of Swaziland:
- population: just over 1 million people
- over 47 % of the population is infected with the HIV/AIDS virus (world’s highest)
- average life expectancy: just under 31 years (world’s lowest)

THERE IS HOPE
Ron and Sarah’s passion to love the people of Swaziland was ignited in their hearts in 2006 when Sarah taught English at the El Shaddai mission school for 6 months. Ron came to visit and from then on God’s been speaking to their hearts about bringing teams to help build up the El Shaddai Mission “one brick at a time.” Ron heads up a construction group to erect buildings and do maintenance and Sarah organizes teams to run a camp with Bible stories, crafts and games at the El Shaddai Mission in the rural mountains of Swaziland.

Facts about El Shaddai Ministry:
- founded by Kallie and Charmain Coertzen in the year 2000
- consists of a children’s home, dairy farm, rabbit farm, chicken coop, vegetable fields and maize crops
- houses 50 children orphaned by AIDS, famine and abandonment
- provides an elementary school (7 grades), a clinic and a church for the surrounding rural community

The people of Swaziland need God’s hope and love for the future. Come join us alongside the El Shaddai Ministry in helping love those precious in the Lord’s sight. For more information about future trips please e-mail Ron and Sarah at teamswaziland@gmail.com.

YOUR HELP
The blessings of Christ through your prayers and financial donations are evident in the spiritual fruit witnessed on a daily basis displayed by the darling children and the El Shaddai Ministry workers. Your help to expand the kingdom of heaven in the rural mountain community of Swaziland is an eternal investment.

The tranquility on the mountaintop where the ministry is located is indescribable. With the absence of the noise and busy-ness of our lives back in Canada it is evident that the peace and presence of the Lord rests upon that mountaintop. Talking with the ministry’s staff and praying with them is an opportunity to learn what it truly means to be a servant for Christ. Spending time getting to know the darling precious ones of the Lord better is an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what Jesus truly meant when He said “Let the little ones come to me… for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matt 19:14.

The El Shaddai Ministry’s theme verse is James 1:27 - “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this; to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

SWAZILABND TRIP OVERVIEWS

March 1 – August 13, 2006
In early 2006, Janine Maxwell (the president of Heart for Africa) presented Sarah Puiras, a university student, with the opportunity to go to the smallest country in Africa to teach English to a rural mountain community because they were in need of help. By God’s grace she was able to begin an adventure of a lifetime in Swaziland. She traveled alone and taught English to two classes of about 20 students from the ministry as well as surrounding community for five months. She was also able to start building valuable relationships with the workers and orphan children of the El Shaddai Ministry.

March 1 – 15, 2007
After shortly visiting his daughter Sarah in 2006 Ron Puiras, a small business owner, and three other men travelled to the El Shaddai Children’s Home to help install electrical work and plumbing for the girl’s new dormitory. They also built new desks and benches for the ministry’s elementary school classrooms and church building, stirring a passion to serve in the hearts of the men’s team.

December 7 – 30, 2007
Sarah Puiras along with two other ladies travelled to the El Shaddai Children’s Home to run a Vacation Bible School Camp for the mission’s orphan children. They taught new songs, told Bible stories through interactive skits and made crafts with the orphan children. Special relay games with water balloons and ice cubes were enjoyed by all during the hot December months in Southern Africa. Face paint, bubbles and sparklers were a favourite activity of the children for a very special Christmas for the women’s team.

March 29 – April 13, 2008
Ron Puiras along with a team of fourteen others, including other family members, travelled to the El Shaddai Children’s Home to complete the large task of building a new home for the many babies of the growing ministry. The younger ladies of the group also helped teach children from the surrounding community alongside the ministry’s preschool teachers. All the team members bonded with each other and the orphan children in their own unique ways during their free time.
